WHY MASTER'S DEGREE?
Ever since my undergrad days, I was interested in designing of various medical application devices. When I stepped into the corporate world, my interest grew into providing innovative and effective solutions to the healthcare industry. As the Chinese Proverb goes by – “There are many ways one can make an impact on the world. But there is no greater impact than contributing to the society”.
Slowly and gradually, my interest and attraction towards healthcare innovations became a passion and I made myself determinant about making a career in medical product development. I completed my Bachelors of Technology in Biomedical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), an integrated part of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE).
For various reasons, the Master of Professional Engineering – Biomedical Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney has emerged to be the best choice, considering my alternatives for post-graduate studies. The most appealing way of the program is its interdisciplinary coursework, giving me an extensive and core concepts of Biomedical Engineering, including the fundamentals of design & innovation and also the management concepts like financial, risk, judgement & decision making in engineering and economic evaluation.
With the distinctive global landscape of today’s healthcare industry, contemplating in a universal domain away from my home country is very important for me, and pursuing this in one of the reputed and youngest university in Australia will absolutely give me a novel advantage in my career pursuits.
Having had the privilege to learn engineering aspects such as Biomedical Instrumentation & Equipments, Biomaterials & Artificial Organs, Biomedical Digital Signal Processing, Medical Image Processing, Telemetry Systems and Bio fluids & Bio mechanics and its clinical application in Anatomy & Physiology, ENT, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics and Radiology, I am confident of enhancing the epitome diversity of professional engineering world by joining the University of Technology Sydney for my post-graduation.
Australia was the final choice for me when I was in a phase to choose a country for my post-graduation because of some forthright reasons. The most appealing aspect is the emphasis on scientific research being provided here in Australia. It is as the forefront of new technology and innovations. The cultural diversity and high quality of education by practical means had attracted me to choose Australia as a country to live in during my higher education period. Living expense and tuition fees are considerably lower here compared to other countries like the United States and United Kingdom. All Australian institutes provide a dynamic, innovative and challenging environment in which one can create and nurture their true potential. Australian qualification will surely be a strong base for boosting my career and building my future. Every year, talented students from all over the globe do come Australia to study so that they can make their dream come true. I’ll be rendered to their cultures and ethics by studying with them, on top of improvising my communication skills.
